MEMBERSHIP

MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of THEA is to provide resources, support and encouragement for home educators and their families; to sponsor activities in keeping with common Christian values in an atmosphere of mutual service and respect; and to relay information pertaining to home education.

We are governed by our Organization Policies and Statement of Faith which we encourage every member to read. 

Our leadership have all agreed to our statement of faith, but members are not required to agree with nor accept our statement of faith, but just to read it and understand our foundation.

 

THEA welcomes all homeschoolers to be members.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to any homeschooling family. 

Homeschooling does not include distance learning, virtual school nor public/private school at home as those students are enrolled in a district school or a private school. To qualify as a homeschooling family, you need to meet the requirements of ND Century Code Chapter 15.1-23-01.

 

Some examples of school-at-home programs that are not classified as homeschooling are K12.com, Tech Trep Academy, BrainTree, ND Center for Distance Education, Mandan Virtual Academy, Bismarck Virtual Academy.

 

Some examples of online homeschool curricula that is classified as homeschooling are Abeka Online, BJU Online, Shormann, Time4Learning. If you have questions about the law and what constitutes homeschooling and what does not, please email tricityhomeeducators@gmail.com

Requirements:
